From Hong Kong & Taiwan — International Routes
From Hong Kong (HKG)
No scheduled direct service between Hong Kong and Yonago currently operates year-round, though charter flights have operated seasonally in the past. The most practical route in 2026 is Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) → Kansai International Airport (KIX) or Osaka Itami (ITM) — multiple airlines operate direct flights (approx. 3h30m) — then connect to Yonago Kitaro Airport (YGJ) via ANA (approx. 50 min). Door-to-door from Hong Kong airport to Scène is typically 6–7 hours including connections.
Alternatively, fly into Okayama Airport (OKJ) from Hong Kong (some direct charter services have operated) and take the JR Limited Express Yakumo directly to Yonago (2h10m), then a rental car to Scène.
From Taiwan (Taipei / Kaohsiung)
China Airlines, EVA Air, and Peach Aviation operate multiple daily direct flights from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Osaka Kansai (KIX) or Itami (ITM) (approx. 2h30m). From Osaka, proceed to Yonago by the Itami–Yonago domestic flight (50 min) or by Shinkansen to Okayama + Yakumo (approx. 3h total). Direct flights from TPE to Okayama Airport (OKJ) have also been operated, bringing total travel time from Taipei to Scène to approximately 5–6 hours.
Seasonal charter flights between Taipei (TPE) and Yonago (YGJ) have operated previously, reducing total travel time to approximately 4 hours. Watch Yonago Airport's official website for announcements on international route resumptions.
The Japan Rail Pass covers all JR trains including the Limited Express Yakumo 特急やくも (reserved seat supplement required). Driving in Japan requires an International Driving Permit issued under the Geneva Convention. Rental car desks at Yonago Kitaro Airport and Yonago Station have English-language staff and some have Chinese-language support. Navigation apps (Google Maps, Yahoo! カーナビ) work well throughout the Daisen area.
