Auberge — Daisen, Tottori

Scène

A quiet night,
prepared for cuisine.

01 / Concept

A single scene,
prepared for silence and cuisine.

"Scène" means "scene" or "setting" in French.

The weather of the day, the temperature, the scent of the air.
Ingredients that arrive from the fields and the sea, unique to that day.
To express all of these as a "scene on a plate".

At the foot of Mt. Daisen, far from the hustle and bustle of the city,
we have prepared a time for you to simply face the cuisine.

The Name "Scène"

Since we harvest vegetables and herbs from the field every day, the types of vegetables change daily. The blessings of the sea also change depending on the weather and fishing conditions. We offer a course where you can sense the ever-changing "scene" of the San'in region through our dishes.

The blessings of San'in,
through French techniques.

Ingredients nurtured by the sea, mountains,
and villages of San'in, refined through French technique.
The chef personally visits local producers,
selecting only ingredients born from trusted relationships.

From amuse-bouche to dessert,
each plate reveals a different expression of this land.

05 / FAQ

We cherish being a place where adults can spend time quietly.

Are children welcome at Scène?
Scène's multi-course French dining experience is designed for guests aged 9 and above. If you are traveling with younger children, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
What kind of food is served?
Chef Hotaka Maeda crafts French tasting-course menus inspired by the landscapes of San'in — wild rock oysters from the Oki Islands, freshwater clams from Lake Shinji, artisan cheese from Kisuki Dairy, and herbs and vegetables harvested each morning from our kitchen garden. Every plate is a portrait of that day's San'in.
Can you accommodate food allergies?
Please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions when making your reservation. We will do our best to accommodate within the limits of our kitchen. Depending on the nature and severity of the allergy, we may not be able to guarantee full accommodation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms follow the platform you booked through — TableCheck for dinner reservations, and Jalan, Booking.com, or other platforms for overnight stays. Please review the specific policy at the time of booking.
Is there parking available?
We have two free parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant.
How do I get to Scène from Yonago Station or Yonago Kitaro Airport?
From JR Yonago Station, take the Nihon Kotsu Bus bound for Daisen-ji (approx. 50 min) and alight at the Daisen-ji stop, then walk about 5 minutes. By car, exit at Mizokuchi IC on the Yonago Expressway and drive approximately 20 minutes toward Mt. Daisen. See our access guide for details.
Can I visit for dinner without staying overnight?
Absolutely. Dinner-only reservations are very welcome. Book your table through TableCheck.
What are road conditions like in winter? Is snow a concern?
Mt. Daisen receives heavy snowfall and the road can be icy from November through March. We strongly recommend snow tires or tire chains if driving. Bus services continue but may experience delays due to weather conditions. Please plan extra travel time and check road conditions before setting out.
What are some sightseeing highlights near Scène?
Scène sits along the ancient Daisen pilgrim path, putting Daisen-ji Temple and the inner shrine of Ooyama Jinja within easy walking distance. Within a 30-minute drive you can reach Kaike Onsen hot springs, the Mizuki Shigeru Road in Sakaiminato (home of Kitaro), and the historic Matsue Castle. See our Daisen area guide.
What amenities are available in the guest rooms?
All three rooms include Wi-Fi, a shower booth, towels, a hair dryer, and pajamas — a quiet stay in the forest stillness after dinner.
